Woof

Woof

Fun stomach tattoo I worked on last week.  Gonna add some color in the mouth/eyes and the flames.   I did a little shading study for this one- not something I often do.  I think it part of it is my drawing style.  Creating a loose sketch that has fun energy and some sloppiness, and then having to refine it for line work can sap some of the energy out of it.  And I feel the thin outline I chose to use made the drawing feel a little less energetic still, as the lines aren’t playful or varying.  I think I used a hella tite 7 for the main lines and hella tite 4 for the hair, since it’s on a female and I usually change the line weight and overall darkness and coverage when tattooing females.  Anyway, I did a couple shading studies to get the look I wanted out of the thin lines.  Definitely helped the design land where I wanted it.
